10+ years I have spent honing in my craft and understanding of who I am within the creative industry

The Multidisciplinary Artist

My career in the arts industry kicks off as an actor/performer, I originally had my sights set on being on the first black Doctor Who - A dream which is now lost to me. *inserts sad face*

During my early years as an actor I soon realised that even though I loved performing my passion and interest leaned more towards creating, writing and directing. Being in a theatre production meant losing the satisfaction of experiencing the art that was being moulded which always bugged me. So i decided with some prompt from my Director at the time to dive into learning more about directing and producing.

I took some time away to figure myself out. During this time I took many courses that London’s art organisations had to offer then enrolled into university to study Creative Production which honestly was a blessing. Upon my return to working in the industry the spaces had changed and I had aged, however the floor was open so I had to quickly adapt and figure out where and how to place myself as an artist

I started taken on roles as a facilitator and producer of youth & community engagement projects in order to reintroduce myself to the industry but also because development/empowerment of the younger generation of emerging artists is a mission I believe is of the upmost importance.

Since then I have grown and built my networks, I have started creating work that I am proud, collaborating with artists I acknowledge and respect and placing myself in rooms I deserve to be in.

Everyday I tick something new of my to do list

Everyday the journey once again

Begins.
